FORTA FERRO MACRO FIBRE REINFORCEMENT

HIGH STRENGTH FIBRE REINFORCEMENT

FORTA FERRO® is a patented fibre reinforcement system consisting of a blend of two fibres:

  • a standard fibrillated polypropylene fibre to reduce and control shrinkage and temperature cracking, and
  • a very heavy-duty twisted-bundle monofilament fibre made of a strong synthetic copolymer,
to increase load-transfer and post-crack performance.

FORTA FERRO® has been tested worldwide for toughness, impact resistance, flexural strength, and residual strength.

FORTA FERRO® has also been compared in residual strength (ASTM C-1399) to the major brands of steel fibres,
resulting in an average replacement value of 1:10 (FORTA FERRO®: steel fibres).

It may be used to replace steel reinforcing mesh for slab on grade applications, precast tanks and products, etc and
allows extended joint spacing (dependent on dosage, concrete strength, concrete thickness and end use).

Typical Dosage:
2.5 - 4.5kg per m3 of concrete (refer datasheets for complete dosage details or contact us for guidance)

FORTA FERRO is unique and offers the following benefits:

  • Uniform mixing without balling
  • Better colour blend with cured concrete
  • Excellent finish without fuzzies
  • Improved post-crack performance
  • Easy fibre addition
  • Very high fibre count
  • Superb plastic shrinkage crack reduction

Slab On Ground fibre recommendation If you have an upcoming or current project that is specified with steel reinforcing for slab on ground and would like to compare this with a Forta Ferro reinforced slab, then please download the Slab on ground design datasheet below, fill in the details and email to us. We will complete a design recommendation for Forta Ferro and return it to you.
